The Kennel of The Raptor Center

The castle’s kennel originally served as a defence and shelter for the fortified castle. Later the kennel was used as a flower and vegetable garden until the German Greifenwarte moved in in 1970.
Today, the kennel complex offers a close-to-nature insight into the fascinating world of the griffins: about 80 birds live here among artistic sculptures. Interactive touchscreen stations and a showcase exhibition show local birds of prey in their typical habitats. Life-sized silhouettes at the castle tower impressively demonstrate the enormous spans of the different birds of prey.
